Campout – Sept 26-27

Good Evening Troop 332!

WE ARE EXCITED TO RETURN TO OUTDOOR CAMPING!  Please read this message carefully as there’s a lot to digest. 

We are planning a 1 night trip out at Camp Birch out in Yellow Springs.  We will meet at the church Saturday morning at 9:00am and return back to the church Sunday afternoon around 1:00pm.

The activity for the event will be a service project, camping orientation, and some hiking at John Bryan State Park.

  • Deadline
    • Permission slip is due by this coming Monday September 21
    • You can bring it to the troop meeting with your payment, or send in the form to camping@troop-332.com
  • When
    • 9:00am 9/26 meet at the church
    • 1:00pm 9/27 return to the church
  • Transportation
    • We would like to minimize carpooling if we can help it
    • We would appreciate every family driving separate where possible
      • While you are welcome to camp, you don’t need to.  We just need transportation to and from the camp
    • Anyone carpooling with someone from a different household should wear a mask during the trip
  • What to bring
    • Masks should be worn at all times

    • Boots are a must (please no tennis shoes)
    • Bring long pants and shirt for the service project
    • Enough tents for all campers
  • Tenting Arrangements
    • BSA no longer allows parent/child tent partners.  Under non-COVID conditions, tent partners can be no more than 2 years different in age (unless they are siblings)
    • Only same household siblings can share a tent
    • Everyone else must tent individually
  • Food
    • This month we will do all food as a troop cooked by adults
    • We’ll ask for a volunteer to cook & serve all meals and snacks (Lunch, Dinner, Cracker Barrel snack, Breakfast)
    • Be sure to note any food allergies on the permission slip
